Camano Meeting Room

Living on these shores gives us personal experiences with the tides, whether we are walking along the beach, kayaking, sailing, boating, or just crossing on a ferry.

Join us for an interactive presentation by Jack Hartt. This presentation will take you far out into space, confuse you with discussions about Isaac Newton, balls on blankets, and the space shuttle.

Then we’ll bring it all down to sea level as we come to understand how the solar system creates our tides, and why the water goes up and down precisely according to a calendar printed years in advance.

We’ll even discuss Skagit Bay, Deception Pass, Port Susan, and Point Lowell.
