Getting Serious About Humor:

Murder Mysteries that Bump Your Funny Bone

Have you ever read a mystery described as “humorous” but didn’t find it funny? Mystery author Charlotte Stuart explores humor in mysteries and show you how to choose ones most suited to your tastes.

Have you ever read a mystery described as “humorous” but didn’t find it funny, or stopped reading a mystery because you didn’t care for its brand of humor? You are not alone. All funny bones are NOT the same.

Join us as mystery author Charlotte Stuart investigates types of humor, explores theories about why we don’t all laugh at the same things, and provides a method to help you choose humorous mysteries most suited to your tastes. Following the discussion, Charlotte will read from her novel, “Survival Can Be Deadly.”  Copies will be available for purchase and signing.

Charlotte Stuart, Ph.D., began her career in academia. Her background includes such diverse elements as teaching communications, management consulting, and commercial salmon fishing in Alaska. Currently Charlotte lives on Vashon Island.
