The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl, who learns to read and share her stolen books with her neighbors and a Jewish man hidden in her basement during bombing raids.
Read or listen to the book, watch the movie, then join us online for a lively discussion. Brandon Henry, who works at The Clyde Theater in Langley, leads the discussion.
A book kit has been reserved for this title and you can pick up a copy of the book at the Freeland library. If that location is not convenient, let us know and we will send a copy to your local Sno-Isle library. You can check out the book starting the 1st day of the previous month and keep it until the end of the current discussion month. For example, the loan period for the book kit copy of Room is August 1 – September 30.
Digital copies of the book, audiobook, and movie may be available for downloading at www.sno-isle.org. Titles are also available on DVD. Many of the movies have long wait lists, so place a hold now for future titles!
This meeting takes place on Zoom! To receive a Zoom invitation, please register. An email address is required. On the day of the event you will receive an email with the Zoom invitation. If you don’t see it by 1:00 p.m., please check your spam folder.
