This program series is for children entering kindergarten in September 2018. We will focus on basic skills, such as, identifying shapes and letters, counting to 100, using scissors, and taking turns. Instruction is provided for parents to guide their child. Group activities will include read-aloud stories, music and movement. At the end of each program children go through the lunch line' for a light meal.
Children will learn self-control from the structured environment and close one-on-one time with a parent. Parents will gain a clearer understanding of kindergarten curriculum and teacher expectations and how they can support their child's learning outside the classroom. Parents must stay for the whole one hour program each week.
Registration begins June 1. There is no charge for this program. Contact Children's Librarian Katherine Combs at the Mukilteo Public Library at 425-493-8202 X 3232 for more information.
